Installatie ESX 3.5 binnen Workstation 6

Ik probeer ESX 3.5 te installeren en op te starten binnen Workstation 6. Het installeren en opstarten gaat prima totdat ik een virtuele machine opstart. Bij 95% krijg ik de volgende foutmelding waarna mijn ESX 3.5 server het leven laat Sad

Ik denk dat VMware niet zo goed met die Alienware laptop overweg kan Wink

Ontopic: Ik ben nog niet zover dat ik een VM kan gaan starten. Maar ik ga morgen eens kijken wat erbij mij gebeurd.

Helaas,
Op mijn Desktop met VMwks6 wil het wel installeren maar bij de eerste reboot vind het systeem de heleboel niet fijn en gaat onderuit met "Mounting root failed" ...
In de logs is terug te vinden dat er een heleboel drivers ontbreken.

Opmerkelijk, ik had met ESX 3i precies hetzelfde probleem. ESX starten lukte prima, maar dan vervolgens een VM starten lukte niet... Ik zal dadelijk even kijken hoe het zit met ESX 3.5.

Ik vermoed dat er iets met de technologie is veranderd. Wellicht CPU masking of iets dergelijkes...

Ik heb getracht de installatie onder Workstation 6 uit te voeren, echter krijg ik de melding dat dat er geen Support Network Devices gevonden kunnen worden. (Dit doe ik trouwens op een Dell Latitude D620)

Iemand al ervaring?

Binnen je VM dien je de Intel 1000e netwerkkaart te gebruiken. Evenals de twee regels invullen in je vmx:

VT heb je nodig. Als je dit niet aan hebt staan performed het echt voor geen meter.

Haha, daar ben ik achtergekomen. VT enabled in de BIOS en de regel toegevoegd aan de .VMX... Cool
