Update Manager 4.1 met SQL 2008 Standard niet ondersteund?!

Zojuist eens de laatste Compatibility Matrix bekeken wat er allemaal wel en niet wordt ondersteund.
Kan iemand mij uitleggen waarom SQL Server 2008 Standard Edition x86 en x64 wel werden ondersteund voor de Update Manager 4.0 (RTM, U1 en U2), maar niet meer voor 4.1? Indien je nu gebruik wilt maken van de Update Manager, moet je dus SQL Server 2008 Enterprise gebruiken. SQL 2005 Express wordt wel ondersteund.
Daarnaast wordt SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition x86 SP1/2 wel ondersteund, maar SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition x64 SP1/2 niet, terwijl dat voor 4.0 (RTM, U1 en U2) nog wel kon.

VUM and MS SQL 2008 support

I received multiple questions around this so decided to ask around internally. I managed to get ahold of the VMware Update Manager (aka VUM) Product Manager and after exchanging a couple of emails this is the outcome:

VMware vSphere Compatibility Matrixes
Table 13 on page 14 of the above linked document states that VUM doesn’t support MS SQL 2008 Standard. This is however untrue and should be considered as a document bug. It is supported and the document will be modified soon to reflect these changes.
